Taro Yamada gave up on baseball and enrolls in a high school with no baseball team. But that's where he finds the strongest battery, Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname. Why would they be here? Besides, Kei has amnesia and forgot about baseball.
Kei still refuses to play baseball, but Haruka manages to lure him out to do batting practice with a certain offer. Aoi Todo and Shunpei Chihaya, who also gave up baseball like Taro did, can't hide their shock to witness their practice.
To get to know each other, Kei invites Todo and Chihaya to his house. In Kei's room, they find a glove that Haruka has hidden. While each of them faces what they can't let go, the practice game with Teitoku High begins.
Against Teitoku's batters, Haruka pitches an immaculate inning, before Kotesashi's leadoff, Todo, hits a home run on the very first pitch he faces. As everyone holds their breath, the fated showdown between Haruka, Kei, and Kokuto begins!
After the game, Teitoku's manager suggests that Haruka, Kei, Todo, and Chihaya should transfer to Teitoku. Kei realizes they lost because of him and hopes to send the others off. Todo and Chihaya consider the offer, but what will their answers be?
As he learns more about the rules and tactics of baseball, Kei decides to set his sights on beating Teitoku in a revenge match. However, Todo is reminded why he quit baseball in the first place.
Todo volunteers to step down from shortstop due to his yips. But inspired by Kei's words, Todo decides to try practicing throwing to first. However, when his training hits a snag, Haruka says something that could ruin everything.
Now that Todo has overcome his yips, the team are now working on improving Kei's skills. But the overwhelming demands make Kei escape to the rooftop, where he meets Tsuchiya Kazuki, an otaku who likes baseball video games, but hates real-life baseball.
Out of curiosity, the team attempts different methods to try and get Kei's memory to come back, but not a single one seems to work. However, the next day...
